Things to consider when comparing sample reports:

• Is the report visually and textually easy to understand?

• Is the inspector overly reliant on recommending further evaluation by another party? Recommending a specialist can certainly be warranted, but in our opinion, should not be used as a crutch.

• Is the report filled with disclaimers? Some of this language is necessary and unavoidable, but in our opinion, too many inspectors seem more concerned with reducing perceived liability than providing the client with useful information and recommendations.
